This is my journey toward personal development and a healthy mindset. I believe all of the different parts of our lives are interconnected, and to achieve wellness and balance we have to grow in every area. Your challenges are probably very different than mine, but I hope my journey can help you with yours.
I have always had a growth mindset, an urge to improve in every aspect of my life. At the same time, although a naturally upbeat person, I battle a common challenge that we call depression. During an extra difficult time I pushed myself through a series of steps to get myself in a better mindset, and to create habits for those days my world is swaddled in darkness. These habits brought me from a bleak emotional winter to budding spring.
I know the battle is never over, fought and won. I am fine with that. I have tools and habits in place to keep the fight alive. And on good days or bad, these habits lead me forward on a journey of personal development. So I feel like they could benefit anyone with a growth mindset, whether they deal with a specific challenge like depression or just life’s ongoing and everyday hurdles.
The Steps to Growth and Healing
Imagine waking up on one of those days, the ones where you are so low you are not going to get out of bed. And an hour later you realize, not only did you get out of bed, you have gone through an entire morning routine. That’s the power of habit, the power of The Steps.
