What to do when depression hits
When a giant wave of depression hits, you need immediate actions you can take to fight it. This site has steps to build habits, but those take time. So here is a list for when you need to battle your low right now.

2. Concentrate on your breathing for 3-5 minutes. Take slow, deep breaths, in and out.
3. Wash your face. If you are up to a shower, do it.
4. Go for a walk. Pay attention to all the sounds, smells, feelings, and the little visual details around you.
5. Eat something. If you like eggs, the omega in them will help.
6. Clean one easy thing. Wash one window or mirror, or sweep one room, or scrub one sink. Listen to your favorite upbeat song while you do it.
7. If you feel like you can, call someone you enjoy talking to. I understand there are days you just can’t people. There is nothing wrong with that.
You are enough just the way you are. You have permission to take care of yourself. You don’t have to live up to anyone’s expectations. You are doing a wonderful job seeking for help and taking the steps that will help you feel better.
