Healthy relationships help us to focus outside of ourselves and our problems and think about other people. I understand very well how when you are at your lowest of lows, it is nearly physically impossible to reach out to others and offer any kind of help. So this first relationship step is easy, while still important.
New Habit:
- Beginner: In your journal, create a list of people who need your thoughts and/or prayers, depending on your beliefs, and the reason they are in need. Then pick one person to focus on. Think about them, focus on what they might really need, send love their way, pray about them, and if you feel pushed to reach out to them over text or phone call, or to visit them in person, then you can make that effort.
- Next Level: Add this to your routine, so each day for a short time you are focusing on someone else. There are always more people experiencing trials to add to your list.
